We are looking for opportunities for students to see what it's like in the work place, to firm up their career goals and to practice the skills they have learned. Opportunities that you could assist with would be one-time job shadows; unpaid work experiences up to 45 hours total; paid Co-op. We want to thank the many employers that have and are currently supporting our 19 programs. You are an important component of our training.
1. Job Shadowing
Short-term educational opportunities which provides a student with a broad overview of what a business, industry, or employee does. That student typically shadows one or more persons for a two-hour visit.
2. Unpaid Work Experience
A student has an opportunity to explore a career by working in business and industry where they train and can practice skills they may have learned in a class or on their own. Students may work during school time for no more than 45 hours total.
3. Cooperative Education (Co-op)
Students completing at least 50% of his/her training in a career/technical program and recommended by an instructor may be placed in business and industry in a job that relates to their training. The students earn pay and credit, as well as receive additional training by the employer.
