Student Voting Information
All eligible Michiganders are encouraged to pre-register to vote. Michigan Election Law now allows individuals who are at least 16 years of age to preregister to vote. This was enacted through Public Act 258 of 2023. The Michigan Department of Education (MDE), in partnership with the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), encourages students to visit MDOS’s voter preregistration website.
Tools and resources to support the implementation of PA 258 of 2023 are available on the Secretary of State’s Michigan Voter Information Center’s webpage.
