Board of Education

Serving locally, and on the intermediate level, the Calhoun Intermediate School District Board of Education brings over 70 years of collective service and experience to the students of Calhoun County. All board members are currently, or have in the past, served on a local school board. In addition, Board members bring a variety of backgrounds, work experience and expertise to the CISD Board. During their service to Calhoun county and surrounding areas, Board Members advocate the interest of children and act as links between the education community and business, government and citizens of Calhoun County.

Board Members

Richard Lindsey, Jr., President

Richard Lindsey, Jr. was elected to the Calhoun ISD Board of Education on June 7, 2021. He is a current board member of the Marshall-Albion School District where he has served for 12 years. Richard is employed by Abbott, Thomson, Mauldin, Parker, Beer and Rick, PLC as a Partner/Attorney. Term ends June 30, 2027.

 Jean Goodrich, Vice President

Jean Goodrich was appointed by the Calhoun ISD Board of Education to fill the unexpired term of Durwood Booher on July 7, 2021, and then elected on June 6, 2023 for the remaining two years of this term. Jeannie served on the Union City Board of Education for 15 years. She is currently employed by Summit Pointe as the Chief Executive Officer. Term ends June 30, 2025.

Kenneth Ponds, Treasurer

Ken Ponds is in his 22nd year with the CISD Board of Education. Rev. Ponds comes to the CISD with over 12 years of experience having served on the Albion Board of Education. In addition, Mr. Ponds worked for Albion Starr Prep (Formerly Starr Commonwealth) for 39 years as Chaplain. Term ends June 30, 2025.

Eric Greene, Secretary

Eric Greene is in his first year with the CISD Board of Education, elected on June 6, 2023. He has served on the Lakeview School District Board of Education since 2015, and has been President since 2018. Over the years, Eric has served on numerous boards. He is currently a member of the Battle Creek Shelter Board of Directors and KCC Foundation Board of Directors. He is currently employed as Vice President for Communications and Advancement at Kellogg Community College. Term ends June 30, 2029.

Catherine Yates, Trustee

Catherine Yates is in her first year with the CISD Board of Education. She was elected on June 6th, 2023. She has served as a member of the Homer Community Schools Board of Education for the past eight years. Catherine comes to the CISD with experience as Chair of Oaklawn Hospital’s Board and Vice Chair of Marshall’s Downtown Development Authority/Local Development Finance Authority Board. She is currently employed as Vice President and Relationship Manager for Huntington Bank. Term Ends June 30, 2029.
